Hardware Requirements
A Windows 7 WHQL PC which may be any old Windows 7 PC or laptop or download a free SecureOffice virtual machine.

Installation on real hardware may require some inexpensive PC peripherals to install SecureOffice, depending on the target hardware.
If intending to run telephony services, two SIP phones which may be free Android or PC phone clients.
Free Programs for installation / administration
Putty and Winscp secure shell and file transfer programs for remote access.
VmWare Workstation if intending to run or install using virtual machines.
Depending on installation option chosen, a Linux emergency recovery USB boot disk.
Depending on installation option chosen, a real Linux system, or virtual machine which may be any linux distribution including SecureOffice.
Rufus may be used to create a SecureOffice boot disk using Windows systems.
Service Requirements
If intending to run services such as webservers, telephony, IP cameras, or, in general, any internet accessable service, a domain name and DDNS service provider is required.
If intending to run telephony services, a VOIP provider is required.
If intending to run a private email server (that your ISP cannot snoop), an SMTP smarthost service is required if your ISP blocks the ports required for email.
Step By Step Installation
Satisfy all installation pre-requisites.
Choose an installation method and install SecureOffice.
If interested in SecurePBX (secure phone system), reveiw and meet the requirements first, prior to installation.
If interested in VmWare Workstation (host internet servers), reveiw and meet the requirements first, prior to installation.
If interested in SecurePBX (secure phone system), VmWare Workstation or premium packages / scripts, you must meet the registration and installation requirements.
If using SecurePBX, Configure SecurePBX after installation and be satisfied with the the trial version prior to purchase.
If using Vmware Workstation, Configure VmWare Workstation after installation and be satisfied with the the trial version prior to purchase.
After all services are configured and running, perform the steps in Securing Your Site and Services.
